Shane and Aimee Lancaster are headed to a new life in Sleepy Hollow, New York, whether they like it or not. So why is it that as soon as the Lancasters cross the city limits strange things start to happen? There are sightings of a great black dog with glowing eyes, things moving in the woods…oh, and a man on horseback riding around and cutting off people’s heads.
Their father is the new editor of the local paper and he wants answers. Aimee and Shane want answers, too, but for them the questions have a bit more urgency. It seems that the reports of a Headless Horseman might just be true…and it looks like Aimee and her brother are at the top of his list of chosen victims.
Sometimes the truth is far deadlier than fiction.

Book Review- Sleepy Hollow High: Horseman by Christopher Golden & Ford Lytle GilmoreAimee Lancaster is moving to Sleepy Hollow with her brother and father. She is not thrilled to leave Boston behind. Unfortunately the minute they enter town things get weird. All the street lights blow out and dogs start howling and barking all over town. Then even stranger things are being reported. There are several sighting of a giant black dog called Hizzoner. There is someone riding a black horse cutting off people’s heads.
Aimee and Shane witness one such murder. The horseman seems to be playing with them. Their father doesn’t believe what is really going on. The two siblings are determined to prove everything is real. The legend of Sleepy Hollow and the headless horseman are terrorizing the town. Aimee, Shane and Stasia are the only ones to stop what is happening.
This book had a great storyline. The legend of Sleepy Hollow was a cool twist. I liked the ideas the author came up with as he was building on the original story. It was a modern day curse if you will. The horseman was awesome to read about. Nothing like gruesome decapitations to make an evil villain. The idea of the real story by Washington Irving made a big impact on the current story.
Aimee was one of the main characters and I got tired of her attitude and brattiness. I wanted to shake her. She was the one thing about the story I didn’t like. She was so immature that she came across younger than she was. She didn’t win me over in the end either. Some characters do but she didn’t. I was very disappointed. The other characters I liked. They fit with the story and didn’t annoy me. It was a good read. I give it a 3 out of 5.

Very interesting story,about Sleepy Hollow. Ok wanted to know the two stories merged. Author did a great job barring the town to life
Apparently I missed this series the first time around! As a long time Golden fan, I was excited for his take on Sleepy Hollow and he did not disappoint. Suspenseful, slightly romantic and with a small touch of history. I read the first straight through, then immediately bought the others. A refreshing change from werewolves and vampires, this series cant miss.
I couldn't finish this book. The story and characters just didn't grab me.
A cute retelling of the legend of Sleepy Hollow from a modern viewpoint and the implications on the descendants of those involved in the original tale, with an interesting twist on the character of Ichabod Crane.
New contemporary horror, based on an old theme.
I saw that Horseman was free so I decided to download it started to read it right away only on chapetr nine right now it is a edge of your seat read I know it is pushed towards young adults but this is a book for all ages I an going to get the next three books hope there is more to the series than four books I guess I will have to wait and see I would recommend this book to everyone
This is a cute story based on the Headless Horseman. It starts out with Aimee and her family (brother and dad) on a car ride moving to a new town. Then when they crossed into town, the car bucked violently under them - the windshield split down the center, the engine siezed up. all the street the street lights blow out.
this book has the headless horseman, talking trees, huge red eyed dogs. whats not to like. It is action packed. A good Halloween read. lol
I really enjoyed this book just glad I don't live there.
